E-Crypto News talks to Upland on Black Friday Blockchain Gaming

Black Friday is one of those events where all kinds of discounts are possible. In the crypto space, this has been made apparent via several offers.

The Upland Metaverse is one of those places where the black Friday effect will be felt the most.

1. What is Upland bringing to the table for Black Friday?

We’ll be running a mix of events where Uplanders will compete and collaborate at the same time. The more players participate in a challenge the higher the prizes will be for the top-placed ones. We also plan on doing a special Black Friday promotion where prices of virtual properties stay the same but players get a certain percentage of UPX back from their purchase. And we have a discount for participating in Upland’s treasure hunts.

2. Do you think that discounts during shopping events will increase the rate of cryptocurrency adoption? Please tell us the reasons for your answer.

In most cases, I don’t think shopping events will get people excited who have never done anything in crypto. Typically those who are new to the space don’t know how to value a fungible or non-fungible token, so simply put– you’re not joining the wave because there are discounts. However, my hunch is that existing crypto aficionados will use the opportunity to go shopping, especially in Dapps like Upland if they have not yet tried it out. The discounts will give them a better feel of respective prices for supply and demand.

3. How can gaming enthusiasts take advantage of the promotion?

4. For how long will it last? Why will the promo last for this period?

Currently, we are focusing on Friday only and we may also do some additional promotions over the Weekend and/or on Cyber Monday. This mostly depends on our community engagement and if we feel that they are open to more.

5. What ways mean, and methods can be used to induce greater adoption of cryptocurrencies?

In order for more crypto adoption, the industry needs to clarify and mitigate all of the complicated blockchain barriers for the average users.

They don’t want to be bothered with private keys and wallets etc. All of these elements are delaying their adoption (at least for now).

That is why we keep the onboarding process simple at Upland: all you need is a username, email and password to get started.

6. Do you plan to introduce any other promotions during this season?

We usually don’t do price promos; however, this Black Friday Weekend we are making an exception. Our usual preference is to do more marketing and content-driven events where players benefit from an additional product value.

7.In what ways can Upland players spend their UPX tokens?

Right now you can purchase virtual properties based on real-world addresses which are NFTs (non-fungible tokens).

Furthermore, you can use UPX for virtual air and train travel between cities as well as for moving your game piece – called block explorer – within a city. Going forward, we’ll introduce a multitude of new NFTs and you will be able to purchase with UPX.

8. What are your thoughts on the Altcoins not following Bitcoin in the recent price surge?

I believe the Altcoins are catching up? For me, it is more a question of price elasticity. Once people feel that Bitcoin is overpriced because of unnatural demand, they will start to look for alternatives, I think we are starting to see this now.

9. What are your price predictions for UPX from now to 2021?

UPX has a fixed exchange rate of $1 = UPX 1,000. It is strictly in-app only. Value creation and possible appreciation or depreciation happen via NFTs in Upland following the mechanics of a real economy.

10. Where do you see the Upland Metaverse in the next decade? 

Great question! We envision Upland to be an open ecosystem that will (hopefully) live for many decades as it adapts to new environments and technology advancements.

It is going to be a parallel world where people play for fun, earn money from a business they are operating, and where they connect with others in virtual settings.
